Global Pink Hijab Day!! 27th October, 2010

The Hijab I'm wearing in this video is the 'Pink African Plains' Square Scarf, with the 'Hint of Pink' Thin Scarf worn as a neck scarf. Both are at http://www.pearl-daisy.com and the tutorial to tie the headscarf may be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8Eojhz1gdE I was able to create that hijab style using this square scarf in particular because it is very generously sized (each side is about a metre long).

@digitwoman: Doesn't it draw attention to wear a hijab in a place where women don't typically wear hijabs? If one REALLY doesn't want to draw attention, get a boring haircut and don't use highlights in your hair. If you're in a place where women don't usually wear hijabs, and you're wearing a hijab, you're getting the more attention than everyone else. So uhhh, yeah, I don't think wearing a black hijab or a pink hijab makes a difference in terms of "attracting attention" (in some contexts).

FYI you're not allowed to wear things that draw attention to yourself and that would include colorful clothes. "And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; " 23:31. So go back to black hijab

I really like your videos you are so beautiful!!! Honestly though I really am skeptical about giving money to cancer research...these days they receive BILLIONS in donations, yet cancer overall has increased by over 30%, and certain types by 75% in the last 15 years...it really makes me wonder why they haven't even made minuscule gains with all the money we are giving...
