My top 5 songs of the norwegian happy hardcore duo "Nightcore."

It started as a project in shcool, but within a short period of time several albums were released around 2003. Unfortunately they never got any real recognition outside their hometown up north in Norway. However, now, some years later, several of their songs have turned into big hits at the internet, like "Dam Dadi doo" etc.

Note: All of their songs are pitched up/spped-up versions of other songs. Big thanks to MyTwoCents4U (and videomaster411) for providing info on the originals:

#5 - Luca Antolini - Life is A Mystery (Nightcore speed/Pitch-up mix)
#4 - Anna W. - Du och Jag (Nightcore speed/Pitch-up mix)
)
#3 - M-Diva - Reaching Out (Nightcore speed/Pitch-up mix)

#2 - Angie L.C. - Don't let Me Down (Nightcore speed/Pitch-up mix)

#1 - Isabel Soares - Will my Heart Survive (Nightcore speed/Pitch-up mix)

  • The second played track is Anna W. - Du och jag

The singer's name is Anna Welander.

It's a Swedish track written & produced by Peter Bengtsson in the year 2001

It was soundtrack theme in the movie "Brandstegen".

  • Thanks a lot for clearing everything up, I really appreciate it, gonna change info now.

I really liked Nightcore long time ago, as I hadn't heard any of the originals. When I discovered they just pitched/speed-up I was a little disappointed, but that said, I think they mannage to bring some positive energy into the tunes, and although being pretty low, they are far better than the likes of DJ Cammy etc:p

  • Nightcore is just plain wierd.

They take songs and simply make them more ''high pitch''. The first one is ''life's a mystery - Luca Antolini''.

  • Thanks for info, will update.

Yeah, I now know they almost only pitch-up, but somehow I still like them a little bit:P

They picked pretty unknow songs, so I hadn't heard any of the originals before. And I have to admit I actually think several of the nightcore speed/pitch-ups are better than the originals. But it's a pity they pretend it's their own, kind of lose respect due to that.

Btw, do you know any of the other originals?

    /watch?v=9CqSsPC85MA

  • so thats what nightcore is ?? >.>

  • i mean pitchin up songs could be funny, but honestly said, one should better listen to "real" happy hardcore from the mid-90s. i don't know how many of those people who like the nightcore stuff really know some artists or songs from that time. i'm convinced they would prefer those...

just my two cents, you know...

  • thankfully later nightcore songs are actually remixes and not pitch changes

  • .....your missing bounce -.-

  • i have heard night core really sucks but hey it isnt tht bad

  • your #2 is Angie L.C. - Don't Let Me Down

a 2001 Italian production by Tristano de Bonis alias Magic Box

you can find it on youtube too
