1955 Chevy drag race crash

Just a guess, but he probably wouldn't have lunched it had he not nailed it after going into the other lane.He had to know at that point that he was not going to dial in/qualify after that much of a time eater.Also IMHO I can't see how that car passed tech! Glad he's okay though!!

Anybody know what year this happened? Went to a NHRA national event there in the early 80's but don't remember it looking this way. (It was the "Golden Gate Nationals".)

slicks. you dont know what slicks are. i know drag racing way better then you do. and also the d=springs need to give. he has to hard of a leaf spring on his rearend. thats why it is wheel hoppng. i dont say shit. its the truth. why can u go in the junk yard today and still find them cars solid as can be but if u take a 90s honda civic in the junk yard for the same amount of time all youll find is the plastic bumpers left. all the rest will be rotted to the ground
