Sad to think that East Saint Louis once was "The Model City" and the "City of the Future."
There are many neat buildings, just a shame that it is so crime ridden.

May I point out that convenient exits have been provided if you no longer think this place has anything to offer.
This nation's problems are based in the greed and bigotry of people like you. People who see the incredible suffering and degradation of the inner city and instead of thinking we need to fix this problem, you blame the victims is exactly why the problem continues. That you use racist slurs and insults shows where you're coming from. You're not just a right wing nut job, you're also a stone-cold racist.
People care about education when they're SHOWN to care about it. When schools in the inner city are underfunded (and they are) and their parents are given no chance at a decent education, that's what's going to happen. NOT their fault.

@PrisonerNumber9653 Haha, union membership has been consistently dropping for the last 50 years. But........this has NOT lead to the destruction of majority white cities. As for schooling, many Urban American schools get a very high dollar-per-pupil when compared to lots of non Urban American schools. Sad fact is, MANY Urban Americans and their parents do not give a rats ass about ED-U-MUH-CAY-SHUN.........more concerned with becoming a rapper or basketball.
