You're right, it is the English Southern Railway, there's even a shot of Folkestone station. The Southern Railway in the States was were W.C. Handy "The Father of the Blues" claimed to have first heard the blues with an old guy with a bottleneck singing "goin' where the Southern cross the dog", he explained this meant he was going where the Southern crossed the Yazoo River Railway (nicknamed 'the Dog'). This was probably BS cos blues were sung everywhere. Love the song though
