Seems to me Australians only appreciate what is really worth something. If their Leyland P76 Motor, meant to be shared with the Rover SD1, had shown colonial unity despite the European Union, it really would have been a Great Britain! But after the wars England returned to its 'little England' mentality and didn't involve the larger British community in future plans. Toyota built factories in Africa because Land Rover wouldn't increase volume production, BMC wanted 7 year waiting lists there!
the wedge! Sadly the princess never visited Australia... which is understandable.. the Australians would never have appreciated the 'ahead of its time' dynamic design.. or solid rigidity clunkiness..
In 1994 I was driving an olive green princess with a cream vinyl roof around the streets of Timaru. Back then it was considered 'cool' because it wasn't a skoda.
