  • I remember an incident to this day, was watching tv at home and heard a thudding sound outside, anyway I thought nothing of it, couple of minuets later heard it again, so looked out the window was a guy bashing another guys head in on the pavement and people in the pub just loooking. Was sureal but all too common there.

  • @richieallport Its ok playing darts there but living right next to its a different matter. Was deadful past closing times when they used to have lockins. Taxis pulled up beeping horns, people stood outside for ages screaming shouting, fighting. armed police, people being sick ETC.

  • @AlannTH i played darts every monday and friday down the tub for years, it wasn't that bad you wanna try living by the claughton, the police have revoked it's license for the past few months but i it opened up again last night but for how long is any ones gues.s

  • This pub was knocked down with indecent haste...drove past one day ...and the following week it was gone and the land had been cleared and turfed...very surreal...but no loss, it was a pub for losers and druggies

  • Pity this dump wasnt knocked down when I lived there. I lived right opposite this shit house for 10 years, was the worst pub to live next to fights, people comming out and pissing up the walls, raids by armed police, dealing ETC. anyone thinks this is a nice pub should have lived in its shadow, was a disgrace and was very ugly indeed. Was not just me though, that many residents that had to endure night after night of hell from this place im sure are glad of its demise.

  • Is the music from Ceefax in 1983?

  • the admiral in rock ferry was also used in the film, also closed at the moment

  • as a schoolkid in the early seventies the chaos and madness that went on on Bonnie Night in Ilchester Square was a sight that was only repeated in the Toxteth Riots a decade later. See the scousers are always copying us.
