Here's my attempt at the exposition of the first movement of Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto. The solo is on the right, the "orchestra" is on the left. Most of the notes are in the right order I think, but it could probably do with a bit more work.

One can download sheet music for all 4 piano concertos (arranged for 2 pianos, 4 hands) for free here:

  • Wow, I was really impressed with this performance! I enjoyed it ALOT, you deserve to play this with an orchestra someday.

  • Thanks! I'm really not good enough to play with an orchestra. I can dream though!

  • This is great! I think you'd really benefit from a grand piano, however. I've tried to do this many times, but I always fail. Also, how do you edit the video like this?

  • Thanks a lot for the comments! Actually I got a real grand piano a few months ago. I've tried recording with my webcam but whatever sound levels I use the sound is always badly distorted. Anyone have any suggestions for good (and cheap!) microphones?

I don't have any fancy video editing software: I use Avisynth and VirtualDub (both free software). If you Google "Split Screen Multiple Videos Tutorial" you'll find an article that tells you how to do this editing trick.

  • Wow! Really enjoyed listening to this, you're a great player.

Just curious, what make/model of keyboard are you playing?

  • Really glad you enjoyed it!

    It's a Roland HP207e.

  • This is my favorite piece by RACHMANINOV. When I first heard it in an anime I was watching I was instantly drawn in. I can't say I 100% like this cover - BUT ! I admire you so much for being able to play it, you're really lucky, I wish I could play as much as this.
