  • Hurray for these now very rare old school 737s!

Noisy, smoky and bassy, the way God intended!

  • This type is called a 'clamshell', or bucket reverser. the Boeing 737-100 and -200 had them. Also the MD-80,81,82,83,87,88 and MD-90. The Concorde has them too.

  • Thrust reversers don't generate downforce, they generate stopping power. Also you shouldn't use the term "throttle" when referring to a turbine engine, just say "thrust" or "power".

  • NO this is a target type thurst reverser not a clamshell, the clam shells were on the B727

  • The 737-200 is too old...

  • that is very scary! i want my mommy

  • Classic 737-200 series reverse!

    I missed this loud planes

  • And Fokker 70 and 100 has it too.

  • iv been on many 737 around one of them had that reverse throttle tecnique but its old

  • hmmm. that was very unusual. never seen it on any aircraft ive been so far. maybe another technique

  • its a pretty old plane this aircraft is out of production this reverse thrust is seen on 737-100 and -200 also and on the md80
