This is my first video upload I hope you enjoy it! It's basically a compilation of the many versions of the Gayatri Mantra I've found on YouTube. It's Amazing the creative energy people have put into their own renditions. Here are the individual clips in order as found on YouTube:
A lot of the benefits of the Gayatri Mantra come from the vibrations, the key is to come as close as possible as it is in sanskrit. The following phonetic guide should get a native speaker of english from the US close to what its supposed to sound like in Sanskrit
.
(half sec pause between words, imperceptible pauses at the hyphens)
There is only one way to recite the Gayatri Matra - and that is correctly - enunciating all the letters of the Sanskrit alphabet contained in the mantra with equal force and effort, without the expense of others - based on the the expressions in this video, one would be hard-pressed to garner the original meaning of the mantra (since it is so convoluted in its recitation by these individuals)
Any worship - in any form is good worship - as long as it strengthens the mind and binds us together. Sanskrit or otherwise - lets not be too precious about the roots - we let scholars and jingoists fight that fight.
You have no idea what you are talking about. Most of you guys are killing the real Manthra . Learn Sanskrit, understand it and the chant this. Every word has its importance and you are westernizing it. Basically runining the real beauty of it.
I appreciate your trying our Indian culture but please protect it. Learn Sanskrit and know the real way of chanting it.
cool, i was sitting in my car, windows were up and locked, i started chanting the gayatri mantra as loud as possible and i felt like someone put his hand on my head, and felt the energy in my head going down the spine
