NOS Headlines - Nieuwe kans voor oude taal?

Esperanto is een taal die niet aan een bepaald ras of volk is verbonden. Esperantisten gebruiken de neutrale politieke taal zodat ze internationaal beter kunnen communiceren. In Nederland bestaat er een vereniging voor Esperanto-jongeren. Hoe kijken zij aan tegen de naderende Europese verkiezingen?

The point here isn't learn English VS learn Esperanto;

You are being circular in your thinking;

Of course that English have more difusion and stuff and everithing, that argument is exactly the same most people used about internet a few years ago and is so nosence;

I'm tired to discuss in English, no because I am an esperantist but because I am portuguese, and we use to have headache wen we are forced to speak it (even the English maniacs).

Well, I mistaked :-p the search I made was "documentary halo 3"

The countries: 2 from Portugal :-) 3 from Canada, 3 from USA and 2 from UK.

I can't believe, the only ones non-anglosaxonics are from my country. And I can't believ that is one more now, ????? I'm sleeping :-P

I know there are good documentaries on youtube. My point: I don't care about documentaries. If I watch one, it tis because I watch along with my mother, or because I need it for school. since school blocks youtube and not my other sites and I need to printscreen stills from it (and the site I use gives way better quality than youtube HQ) I don't watch documentaries on youtube

I guess adults watch documentaries on ytb. and I also guess toxic is viewed by younger people. -> different agegroup

You have tones of good documentaries in Youtube. And you can make the same experiment as me, search a stupid videoclip or a little funny thing in English, and then search a thing like "documentary", "discourse" or something like that and compare. Or you can make better, see my playlist "English". That reflects the real situation: almost nobody can really learn English. In EU the prime-ministers that can speak English are only the nordic ones, and all of that "learned" that.

I watched video's like toxic before I spoke English

I still don't watch documentaries. not because I cant, but because they don't interest me. and if I do, i use a site with waaaay better quality video than youtube

No, I dont live my life living English as a religion. I am lazy and selfish if it comes to studying and acchieveing things in life. As are the people I know.

Why learn Esperanto, if I need to be able to understand and write in English, to be able to be accepted into the university of my liking? Esperanto I can go without.

I would be bored as hell if I didn;t speak English, I spend most of my time online on English sites because there is everything I want!

do you think I don't care about the other cultures? The reason learning English is IMO more important than learning Esperanto is because you can achieve more if you are fluent in English thn if you are fluent in Esperanto. Mankind is selfish. me too, i admit. and if the culture absorbing comment is about the TV shows, I don't care about what english you absorb. just try to find a english not english cultured program to learn English. this is availlable in english, is free and it works
