  • Ah Kermit wise as ever

  • "It's a frog thing..."

    Hehehe...

  • amazing he can keep a straight face

  • After the interview airs, please post the whole interview!

  • @TheSethIkrass Frank Oz did not play Kermit. Kermit was created by Jim Henson for the TV program "Sam & Friends" in 1955 and he played the character until his death. It's true that there are many people who can imitate Jim's Kermit voice better than Steve, but there is a lot more to playing a character than the voice. Steve worked with Jim for a number of years and he captures the character wonderfully.

  • @Ehar corecttion Frank Oz WAS the original voice for Kermit which was y original point.

  • @TheSethIkrass Cool, thanks for the info. Of course I don't expect it to be the original voice actor- but would be nice if they got someone who sounds more like him.

  • @Ehar That should say "before Jim passed away".

  • @TheSethIkrass Frank Oz never played Kermit, although he did play Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Sam The Eagle and more. He doesn't do much puppetry these days, although he occasionally appears on Sesame Street. Kermit was played by Jim Henson, who sadly died in 1990. Steve Whitmire, who is doing the voice here, has played the character ever since. Apparantly Steve was going to take over the role before Jim, because he was becoming to busy with other projects.

  • The eight year old in me is way too happy right now.
