Professor Eric Faden of Bucknell University created this humorous, yet informative, review of copyright principles delivered through the words of the very folks we can thank for nearly endless copyright terms. See http://cyberlaw.stanford.edu/documentary-film-program/film/a-fair-y-use-tale

  • Ok, so is or is it not OK to use stuff that is 14-years-old?

  • @KawaiiKemonomimi - That is a tough question and cannot be answered in a YouTube reply. Basically, things before 1922 are public domain, SOME things between 1923 and 1978 have expired, after 1978 copyrights last it is the creator's life span plus 70 years. It is also how much you use, and in what context. Watch the video carefully, then Google and Wikipedia copyrights.

  • Okay. This is just freakin' annoying.

  • @ThirdChoiceVideos Thank you for the useful info. I'll look to see if an 'expired copyright music' will turn up anything in a search.

  • @ThirdChoiceVideos - I have tested numerous things on YouTube to see how far they would let me go, and VIACOM asre the frickin Naziest of the Nazis, and they are taken down very, very quickly 100% of the time. May they rot in hell the greedy bastards watching their material stolen and pirated for eternity.

  • This is no less than fucking genius...

  • @tooosweeet There's unfortunately also 100s of police for every one of them and their under their control. So rising up is out of the question.

  • I love it. "This is the sound of your freedom, fluttering out of the window." (at 2:43) Brilliantly said.

  • Yeah, wake up people. YOU control the laws in your country, not them, remember the movie "ants"? There are 100's of you for every one of them. Do something about it! Everyone needs to oppose the politicians who are now pushing the "PROTECT IP act of 2011" and Fast. Looking for a bucket list of politicians to dump?

  • @ThirdChoiceVideos Totally. I've seen Disney take things down from Youtube but they're not nearly as wildly vicious about it.
