A traditional Thanksgiving meal has always been prepared in my home. What's your alternative for the Turkey?
-
@BIGPAYBAK really, why's that?
-
We do not need to kill animals in order to survive, therefore animal industries, such as meat, dairy and eggs, are not only cruel but completely unnecessary. You don't eat meat to survive, you eat it for pleasure. Also, Gorillas (who are apes btw), one of our closest living relatives, are 100% herbivorous. Who cares what our ancestors did 150 000 years ago, are you going to justify rape because our ancestors did it? I hope not. We, as humans, have the ability to think critically, don't waste it.

@yoyotutimatuti Whether it's natural, or not is irrelevant. Some would argue that rape, infanticide and even cannibalism are natural among primates such as ourselves. However, this is done in nature purely for survival purposes, and not for pleasure, tradition or taste. Also, we have developed an understanding of morality (right and wrong), which allows us to contemplate the ethics of what we do, regardless of how "natural" it is...(Cont'd)

Vegan Thanksgiving sounds boring.

I raise and kill my own food. Does that make it better? At least I don't support the industry by going to the store and buying one.
