The Triflex blade is differentially heat treated. The edge is hard, to hold an edge, and the spine is ductile making the blade tough. The spine toward the point is hard enough to get a spark.

  • @510th Vaseline and cotton

  • I does Not work well closer to the hilt or handle. I may get a light spark. It must be too soft.

  • I love the Mora! It really lights up a firesteel. I like the tinder you made, too.

  • Nice. thank you. Have you tried sparking the rod with the blade closer to the hilt? I'm just wondering if the differential heat treat makes a difference.

    Thanks again

  • Yes, a hard angular edge is what is needed. Good vid!
