080 from Tara Mines to Dublin Port, passing Navan station
Comment and Subscribe! Take a good look at this video because Tara mines are thinking of shutting down the mine. UPDATE: Tara mines had a vote to see if the mine should shut down, the result was that it will stay open for one more month but if things don't inmprove the mine will cloese. The result was 40%(CLOSE) to 60% (OPEN).

  • I'm curious- how many of these trains pass by a day? I know they don't operate at weekends.

  • 3 to Tara mines and 3 to Dublin Port.

  • Great video. I love those engines, you can hear them from miles away! When was this shot?

What camera would you recommend that i should buy. I don't know anytihng about cameras!

  • @IrishModelRail No worries my friend. Yea, ive seen pictures and have been chatting to friends up there, ye are hit pretty bad with it and looking out the window today it looks like its making its way into the Midlands :(. Ah well sure it cant be sunshine all the time I suppose :)

  • @athlonian11

Sorry about the accusations, everyone makes mistakes, including me! Have you seen the rain in Dublin today. I had to get off work because the conditions were desperate!!!

  • @IrishModelRail Thanks for jumping in there and pointing those things out to me. Of course I meant 071 class loco, that was a simple mistake, a simple slip of the finger on the keyboard you might say. I should probably have run a spell check for Asahi although they have long since ceased to operate in Ireland and as for the whole 071....(YUP Thats definately the 071 class locos) Vs the 201 Class Locos in the charachter stakes, well that is a matter of opinion. Thanks again.

  • @athlonian11

Firstly thats a Class 071 secondly, it's Asahi not Asaci and thirdly the 201s have as much character about them.

  • Great video! And whatever way you captured it the 171 seems very tall. But great to see these old locomotives still in action. These were always my favourite engines, used to keep me awake at night going by my house and I would always jump out of bed and look out the window at the Asaci Train passing late at night. Something scary about the rumble they created! Never really liked the 201s that followed with their closed in walkway and slanted fronts.

  • great video...but please try to keep your hand steady next time.... lol!

  • creepy horn lol

  • keep up the good work

  • Lovely video, minister for transport please note trains still run to navan, passenger trains soon!
