Join Sue as she demonstrates how to properly sew an invisible zipper.

An invisible zipper is a zipper that is installed in the seam of two pieces of fabric in such a way that the zipper is recessed in the seam and "invisible", as the name suggests. It is predominantly used for garments, especially skirts and dresses, but it can also be found in bags and home décor items. The zipper type used is a special "invisible zipper", and they're available in sewing supply stores right next to the all-purpose zippers.

The Wonder Tape used stays on, but washes out after the first washing. It's brilliant stuff! You can find it on the Connecting Threads website.

  • what if your installing the invisible zipper on a dress and the end of the zipper stops at a point on your body that needs to be trimmed, I usually add a piece of fabric so its not itching on my skin. Just wanted to share :)

  • love the demo - one question: what happens to the tape? does it peel off? thanks again!

  • how do you do it. It 's easier then i thought. thanks
