Goonies, the reason a person is charged with double homicide if they kill a pregnant woman is because the only person that can choose to end her pregnancy is the mother, no one else, and thus it is only allowable for her to terminate the fetus's life. If anyone else terminates its life, it's murder.

And only some states have fetal homicide laws. They're usually the red states that are against abortion period but can't outlaw it because that would be unconstitutional.

Yes, a woman who doesn't want to go through 9 months of pregnancy is definitely a minority. But we believe she still has the right to decide that for herself. Liberals are about defending unpopular rights (why would popular rights need defending?)

Not always. Last I heard only 29 states have fetal homicide laws. And of the states that do, they still don't prosecute women for aborting fetuses. It isn't the same thing.

What you fail to realise is that you can't take the moral high ground, based on life is sacred, and only apply it to the unborn while disregarding the living. It's not only irrational, hypocritical and absurd but it is the root cause of the majority of the problems we have in society. If you think life is so "sacred", shouldn't all your efforts go towards eradicate those meaningless deaths of young children FIRST, before you force women to give birth to more babies they can't or won't care for?

People have had slaves since the beginning of time. Just because its legal doesn't mean its right. If they changed the law, we would not want to put anyone in jail, but at least any women with $200 couldn't just wake in a kill her baby. And don't tell me "oh well, they are just gonna do it anyways, so why not make it safe for them" That's like saying well people are gonna always kill other people, lets make sure the murder is safe when they kill the other person.

Abortion is no more and no less than the exercise of raw power over a defenseless child unto his or her painful destruction.

Of course it's odd and strange (what else is new). Do you really think that is the only contradictory and absurd law out there;-)?
Most of those are left up to the judges discretion thought.
Soo... Since women have always aborted on themselves, way before it became legal; what exactly do you lug-nuts plan to do if you succeed in outlawing abortion? charge them all with murder and put them all behind bars;-)?

Yeah, those "RIGHTS" that you fellers love to quote, they seem to be pretty elusive and outright disappear for millions of children once they are born;-).

Don't you find it odd, that if a person kills a pregnant mother they are tried for a double homicide, yet that same mother could kill it, or have it killed with no legal ramifications. Think about it, that is a little strange.
