There is definitely some great talent around today. I bet even Fritz Kreisler would not be able to compete with Hahn,Midori,Chang, etc.

Some say she's man, some say she's machine, I say she's an alien...

It has been said before, but it is truly monstrous which how much ease and how much perfection HH plays this fiendish piece, just as it were "Twinkle, twinkle little star". On the other hand, everything, EVERYTHING she plays sounds the same, be it Bach solo, a Mozart sonata, Sibelius concerto or one of these hair-raisingly difficult show-pieces. And despite all amazement we all owe her, in the long run I find that rather dull.

@beelionstinger yep seen her live; absolutely monstrous... but i never accused her of overdubbing... i was just mentionning that it's more common than one would think! people are often unaware of that.. i've worked with some very world renouned musicians, and i've had to correct their imperfections... mind u, their performances were incredible, we're talking about VERY minor imperfections that most people would never notice, but being the perfectionists that they are, i make them happy :-)

@beelionstinger not saying this is fake, there's no way to tell... but i work in music prod, where i've had to correct imperfect takes and make videos appear flawless. it's quite easy to do. Have the artist film a take that he/she feels has a good groove so to speak... then have him/her put on headphones and rerecord the piece as many times as he/she wants, then the engineer replaces all the wrong notes, if it's done well there's no way to tell! not saying this is the case, but who knows?

@NutsAboutHarry- Also obvious you ve not heard of Leonidas Kavakos....Watch him perform and you ll see.
-
@NutsAboutHarry- If you hear all 3 with your eyes blindfold, I'll bet, you 'll pick her performance as most touching & emotionally moving. I've heard many performers, I 'll put my money on Hahn everytime. It's guarrantee, her playing will strike a chord in me. Not willing to say this about other performers.
Sadly, Youtube has become the zoo for certain species venting out their aggresive mind.
But, "crap all over...". is'nt nice thing to say+sounds unintelligent. ExAstrix37 is %100 correct.

Why did you feel the need to insult me? Just because I said I prefer Joshua Bell and Itzhak Perlman you come back with 'You're stupid' I'm not going to lower myself to your level and come back with another insult because that would be lowering my standards!

You're stupid!

At 00:14 I'm like WTF?! it sounds crazy! She plays amazingly awesome
@beelionstinger Well the thing is that technique and the standards for violin playing has changed a lot. I mean, I don't think any violinist of the past can pull off what she did in this video at a live concert. It is just not possible -- but with each succeeding generation, there will be a person who transcends the technical standards of today into music. And because Hilary Hahn can do that, I champion her as the greatest of my time. No question about it.

@NutsAboutHarry
Not only have I listened to their recordings, but I've heard all Bell, Perlman, and Hahn in person at live concerts. Hilary is just flat out better than everyone else in the world I've heard. Now that may not be fair to Itzahk as his age prevents him from playing like he use to, but at current the statement stands. Bell is hard on his instrument, no cleanliness in anything that requires speed or volume (the Tchaikovsky for example).
