A world first has been achieved at the Henderson marine base in Western Australia, with the
launch of an Australian designed and built and British backed wave energy generator to sit on
the sea floor and produce electricity and fresh water with no fossil fuel input.
CETO is the first wave power converter to sit on the seabed, where it is invisible, safe from
storms and ocean forces, and self contained. Unlike other wave energy technologies that
require undersea grids and costly marine qualified plant, CETO requires only a small diameter
pipe to carry high pressure seawater ashore to either a turbine to produce electricity, or to a
reverse osmosis filter to produce fresh water.
I hope this technology is sustainable.

@DAILEYericCaryUSA I have not seen any reports about this. Could you provide some for us? Definitely good to know if it did.

Ceto run by Carnegie Wave Energy (CWE.asx) is in the mid-stage of a commercial scale demonstration facility. Should be finished in the middle of 2011. Very interested to see the data it will produce.

...
I think this device was destroyed in a storm about a week after it was launched.

1:07 "submerged buoys create energy as they move with the passing waves" . Wow! They've discovered a new type of physics!

Never give a sucker an even break!
You go right ahead and give them your MUNNY!!
You might just want to check the track record of the company first.

This simple concept is fantastic Where do i invest?

interesting way to keep the cost of the system down... instead of a dynamo inside each buoy to convert wave motion to electricity, its simply got some plumbing to pump the seawater around it towards a big power station ashore

What do NAZIs have to do with this? Not let people know about the truth?
Do you mean to imply that these things would cost less than a typical Thermal Power Plant? How much's the payback time?

They are building one in Albany
