In May 2011, I took a mission trip to the Rio Dulce Izabela region of Guatemala with a group of 19 nursing students. Together with Jungle Medic Missions, we spent 10 days providing care to villages deep within the jungle to people who had no other access to basic medications or care. I was blown away by the beauty of the region, the poverty of the country and the kindness of the people.
