if the don't regulate a max speed, then people will keep accelerating until they blow their transmission. It's designed to protect the vehicle, not the driver

@alandona3 No the governor does cut the fuel it's not traction control. It pisses me off because I have an 03 eddie bauer and it maxes out at 102, I guess on the new ones they raised it a bit. Why won't Ford let us drive like we want to?

maxxed otu at 110? mine maxxes out at 120 without any charges! i love my 98 model gotta love Ford!

@alandona3 It is the advance trac. It individually reduces power to which ever tire it needs to stabilize the vehicle. I own an 06 eddie bauer. All expeditions have advance trac, even if it does not have the emblem on. Notice when you speed p on a turn going on a highway ramp it kicks in if you are going fast and turning hard.

i floor my mothers expedition from 60. took overdrive off and floored it to the top of 4th then i turned overdrive on, makes a lot of difference in terms of acceleration. i also experienced fuel cut off at around 105 but i thought it was the traction control kicking in because it was durring a turn and the weigh got lifted off the unbalanced tire in the back.
