I had the pleasure of visiting her place in 1995 before she moved to los angeles...she was(and still is) good friends with my cousin...i found her to be very nice, down-to-earth, and shy even, in addition to being a terrific singer, like you mentioned...it was great meeting her.

ella may started in the philippines; jaya started in the states, as far as i know...if i may say, ella may is far better than jaya, she's perfect pitch while jaya seems to be tone deaf...ella may is simply underrated; poor management probably.
