  • @michielwerner Het jy geweet op sommige skole in Nederland word les in Afrikaans gegee? Op my "middelbare" (SA: hoëre) skool is Afrikaanse digkuns 'n deel van die vak "Nederlandse taal en literatuur". :)

En die verskil tussen Nederlands en Afrikaans? Ek sou nooit se ek is tweetalig Afrikaans en Nederlands. :P

  • @tandmark I thought it was shukela (sugar), which would make more sense, but he does seem to be saying sukela

  • Whose gonna do a decent translation? I am 'n rooinek-expat' who gets it but ain't got no time for interpretation. It's funny guys!

  • Cute video, but one line has me confused, "gee my daai sukela." What's "sukela" mean here? I think there's an isiZulu word "sukela" that means something like "get up" or "chase after" or "start off." Zulu stories I think begin with "kwasuka sukela" which means "once upon a time," or "the story begins." So in the song are they talking about starting the fire (or the vuvuzelas, or the party) or does "sukela" mean something totally different here?
