do i have to buy additional amplifier to play the ultimate audio quality of this player?
-
would shure se535 make the best companion of this player?
-
What people need to understand is how important the DAC is. The DAC is where the analogue sound is born, where 0/1 turn into waves. Putting BurrBrown DAC into a portable players is genius. Wish i oculd justify $800 price for myself.

where you get your 24bit files from and what kind of music do they cater for?
-
This thing is the best, The only thing closest to it to my ears is the Fostex HPP1 amp, Thats it short and sweet,
-
@Swampax For a kickoff the HiFiman uses the Burr-Brown PCM1704 dac chip meaning it is capable of playing 24bit 96kHz files (iPod only does 16bit 44kHz) as well as boing used as an external dac for a PC. It supports almost every lossless sound format made. Also, its maximum undistorted power output at 32Ohms is 70mW, where the iPod is only 30mW, meaning the hifiman will be able to drive higher impedance headphones and more demanding headphones without an external amp. And the list goes on.

@TheVclb nothing better. save your money, get a 3rd to 5th gen ipod, that will play Raw Aiff files. that's all that counts, Crap in, Crap out, on ANY player.
-
@Swampax lIke serious. YOu give me specs, and I will have a conversation. Until then, don't give me your heavy handed rhetoric. Embarrasing? ha.. Sheen and shine don't amount to anything but eye candy.. SOrry to float your boat. You don't need APPLE approved specs to go out and do it all yourself. Magazines such as AudioXpress have done great features on pre- 5th Gen Ipods with excellent specs as a result. I don't say this thing is shit, just not better. Rate raw aiff on both. Then we'll see.

@oatstao Seriously? Its a measurable fact that players like the Hifiman and ColorFly reproduce higher resolution sound and better frequency ranges. Its down to the quality of the DAC and AMP components used in the players. They're much higher quality in these players than the ones used in iPods etc. Apple wont even tell you the specs and components used in their players - there's a reason for that. Read up on things before embarrassing yourself further please.

how does this go against the QA350 MOD V2 in sounds quality?
How would you rate battery life? I understand it is sacrificed over quality though quite important to me as well.

@cyfer911 It lasts for 8 hours which for me is good enough.

I thought it wud be a Gud companion.. Coz I listen to music on the go...
Wat say U..? :) Hav u tried it with HM 801... I hav not got HM 801 yet.. I'm little wary about the memory card support.. It supports SDHC only..? No SDXC? 32 GB wouldn't be enough... :(

@elecgctara I have never heard the Klipsch's with the HM-801. About the SD card. You can get multiple 32gb SDHC cards.
