  • What setting was the terrain response system set to?

  • they use Mud/Ruts to allow a bit of wheel spin so that you can see the reaction more clearly, if it was in grass gravel snow it would have reacted alot quicker

  • Thks for quick response - I have a disco 2 but after 10 years need to replace it with something a more town friendly (I am in Sydney) but still like to go bush from time to time. I have ordered the Freelander 2 Diesel Se model and (reluctantly) advertised the disco for sale. The Freelander comes with free style pack, including 19" wheels so I might need a second set of rims with A/T tyres for off road trips - any thoughts? or should I reject the 19" wheels and get stock ones straight up?

  • depends how hardcore you want to go, standard road tyres are more than capable but if you get on ebay or a local forum you may find a cheap second hand set with a decent set of tyres already on, offroad tyres are always easier to find for 16" wheels in the uk but i don't know what it's like over there, can't beat the looks of those 19's though

  • Also do you know how much brakes cost for one of these? I mean are they around the same as any other vehicle? I want to know as much as possible of what these things can do

  • @bond85007 sorry it took me a while to get back, its about £250-300 for disc's and pads all round that should include fitting too

  • Ugliest car ever made, ugh!

  • Freelanders are really quite pants in my opinion. They are not designed to go off road. A new one will loose its warranty if used off road...

  • Freelander is a pile of crap. This guy makes out that they are summit amazing but my best bud works for landrover and the new ones have nothing but problems. Ask any range rover owner if they had any electrical issues before and how many times.

Give a Hilux anyday of the week

  • no flex in the chassis, look at a willis jeep, one of the most successful off road vehicles ever made and the chassis has lots of flex... solid beam front axles and torsion bar suspension. sorry but i dont think this land rover will be able to do anything impressive

    - i have 2 willis jeeps and havent come across another 4x4 that can go where the jeeps can....

  • I dont understand why they didn't put the low range gear box on the freelander 2

  • Now thats one way of checking your exhaust ! and I'd shit myself if someone was rocking the car like that.

  • @Spoonoffroad Why so much money? Thats like $450. Usually pads and rotors are like 200 bucks not 450. If i were to do these myself is there anything special I have to do thats different then any other car i've done pads for?

  • I have the lr2 since i live in the united states. how much does it cost to do a land rover experience and do you bring your own car or what? how capable is the lr2 compared to the other land rover vehicles?
