This is the end of the pilgrimage in the steps of St.Paul.
I have often come here and stayed for a day or to at a Monastery about 50 metres from the path to the church where St.Paul walked.
After his martyrdom there were three places where fresh water springs emerged. They exist within the church.
Tre Fontane means three fountains.
In the late evening when the tourists are not there and the monks have ended their vespers with the Salva Regina, one can get a feel of the place and the times of St.Paul who preached the Gospel without compromise, inspired by the Holy Spirit.he would go from synagogue to synagogue and engage Jew and Gentile with his love for Christ, the unique Saviour of the world and founder of a unique church, in which all people need to enter to go to Heaven and avoid Hell (Ad Gentes 7,Lumen Gentium 14, Vatican Council II)

  • Is it true that the springs stopped flowing in 1962?
