Questi baritoni cantano l' aria del Conte di Luna da Il Trovatore di Giuseppe Verdi.

1- Leonard Warren (direttore Renato Cellini, 1952)
2- Robert Merrill (direttore Thomas Schippers, 1960)
3- Ettore Bastianini (direttore Gianandrea Gavazzeni, 1962).

  • Ettore Bastianini

  • Leonard Warren studied with DeLuca!

  • They're all terrific, but you left off the best "Il Balen" of all, and the one that set the bar, the 1929 DeLuca.

Of this set, though, Warren takes the palm, even though I'm a fan of all three men. Both Warren and Bastianini died way too young, Warren of a stroke onstage at the Met in 1960, Bastianini of cancer just a few years therafter.

  • Tutti i tre SUBLIMI!!!

Chi canta oggigiorno il Conte di Luna?

    Hvorostovsky,Hampson,Gavanelli,Guelfi,Maestri...poveri noi...

  • voto bastianini

  • @ironfuscia

how can you call any of these men retards? has your name survived the times with such widespread popularity as these? do you have a recording of yourself that is better? if so, i would love to hear it.

  • BASTIANINI !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love the cage match idea! complimeti....

  • Loved Warren. Great aria, breaks my heart every time. Leave it to Verdi! I think Bobby's voice is amazing, as always. But Warren is better here.He puts so much color in his interpretation! I have the Bastianini Trovatore in Ld P (it's gotta be at least 50 years old!)...and he's terrific but Warren really shines here
