  • BC knows how to punish politicians. ppl in Ont are pussies for not doing the same thing to to that duck billed cocksucker mcguinty.

  • @eugene680 exactly, and people just accept it, because it called "taxes"

  • Guess it's true, we're all slaves to the government. Politicians want more money so they steal from us by raising taxes.

  • Tax me on what I SPEND not on what I EARN. I would only accept the HST if they abolish income tax

  • Great another FUCKING way for them to take our money, why don't they just take all our money, and get it over with, as if we aren't taxed enough as it is with PST, and GST.

    HOMOS

  • Sorry WasagaBeachOntario, The BNA Act Sec 91 gives the power to tax both directly and indirectly to the Fed gov't and Sec 92 gives provinces only the power to tax directly.

The Fathers of Confederation wanted to ensure a stronger Federal gov't when they saw what was happening in the US Civil War, hence greater powers of taxation given to Fed. gov't.

  • Before the tax goes into effect take a good look at what your purchase prices are and see if the gross price of anything has dropped. .The gov't says that HST's purpose is to drop those hidden taxes created in the manufacturing and production stages of commodities. To essentially eliminate those piggy back taxes that ultimately get passed on to us, the consumer.

Personally, I think it's a crock of $hit as of now but we'll see what happens

  • Ontario has been paying taxes in upwards of 13-15 percent for as long as I can remember. (I'm 25 years old) Personally, I think the west coast has had it pretty easy when it comes to taxes as compared to Ontario in recent history. Don't get me wrong...I'm not supporting the tax at all. We get taxed on anything and everything we buy which is just ridiculous. i.e. home, land, land transfer tax, income, food, clothing, car, gas, water, electricity, insurance.

  • hst tax is illegal , bna act 91,92 , feds cannot take a direct tax from the people.

  • I just had a wages cut to keep my job. Now I'll probably lose my job because of the HST. NO B.C. HST. Recall the BC LIBERALS NOW!
