Pagaper depicts a royal manner of "walking" among the Maranao people who live mainly around Lake Lanao. Ladies of the royal court perform this stately dance in preparation for an important event. The ladies gracefully manipulate the Aper (apir) or fan, while emphasizing their small steps, or "kini-kini", which symbolizes their good manners and prominent family background.

  • What Was it music title? i just need it for our project XD

  • @ZierrylKulet Kinikini :D

  • @AZKAL1297 Ethnics, they are not just regions :) Unfortunately, it seems we are more religiously inclined... Christians and Muslims are the same anyways, lol.

  • @ThtOnePinoy Thats true. Philippines culture is unique to different regions in the Philippines, so out of respect it would be good to consider correctly naming it by which region it originates from

  • @AZKAL1297 They probably just called it Muslim because it's origins are Maranao again... I mean sure if it's actually Muslim, but if it has nothing to do with Islam like Singkil, then might as well just call it a Maranao dance.

  • Please tell me what's the basic steps for this dance? Immediately please. I need it for our project !

  • @hetismij21 I see your point they shouldve called this a Mindanao Dance or Traditional Filipino fan dance.

  • would muslims dance to this modern music? is there something like a christian dance? is anything colorful and ethnic from mindanao always dubbed as Muslim? are the dancers muslim? did they worship allah in this dance? apart from the customes i see just a few islamic elements i wouldn't see the whole as muslim.

  • hi .. i'm just wondering what is the song title of the music used in this video ? thanks for some responses .. God Bless :)
