The Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom in Midnight Ebony is based on the same iconic cutaway Mahogany body that has been made famous by players such as Slash, Jimmy Page and Zakk Wylde. It features a highly figured Flamed Maple top, a classy Midnight Ebony finish, black control knobs and block fret inlays which run along the length of a beautiful Rosewood fingerboard.

The big difference between this Epiphone Les Paul Custom and the standard models that Epiphone make is the way it feels and sounds. The Epiphone Ltd Edition Les Paul features a 22 fret speed-taper Mahogany neck, with a feel more akin to an a shredders guitar such as a ESP or an Ibanez. Huge, high gain tones come courtesy of a pair of humbuckers...but these are no ordinary pickups, they're a pair of active EMG 81's, generally considered to be the holy grail of heavy metal hi-gain pickups, and powered by a 9v battery concealed within a back plate.

I used to own one of these... Times got hard and had to sell it. I wish I still had it! It had such awesome tone! The Dual 81's sounded so much sweeter than the 81/85 combo. Beautiful guitar!
