The black kid is Mosca. Indeed, he wasn't described as black in the book, but apparently he is in the movie! :)

he was described as black in the book lol in the very beginning when in prospers point of view they were all sorta described plus Victor Getz also reffered to Mosca as 'the black boy' before he actually met him

Yes, but I think he wasn't described as black like, African kind of black, but as dark skinned. :P Anyway... *goes to check the book*
