Another spastic drum solo

someday I'll get better...

Classic Ludwig Octoplus Outfit. 6 thru 16 concert toms, 18 floor and 2 24 inch kicks. This was my first video recording a few years a go when I started playing again after several years off moving around and having kids. I was quite rusty at the time, mostly endurance wise. My camera is a total piece of crap so the sound blows...this kit made an awesome 70's sound and was a blast to play. Thanks for tuning in! I am working on getting a set of mics so i can do some better eecording and better vids someday!

@ndhudecz thanks bud! it's actually a crusty old premier from the late 60's.. the re-rings are cracked and glued back and i just refinished it in glass glitter to match my main kit - it has old Ludwig standard lugs and strainer and unknown die cast hoops ! sounds even better know with an evans power center head.

Hello what skins are you using can these concert tom sound like metallica toms? Even if theirs are double sided?

@jcer93705 hey man, sorry for the delay..been on the road...for this I had remo pinstripes with 1" sound rings in place - nice dull thud..hard to get the metallica boom with single heads unless of course your micing. If you had concert toms and wanted that kind of sound I would try evans hydraulics or maybe the new remo powerstrokes - something with built in rings - theres so many head out now...who knows might might be the magic combo!

@TobacCigO why? these drums are concert toms and produce the classic 70's sound they were made for. Perhaps you should educate yourself on classic gear instead. my other 6 kits have double sided toms if that pleases you. I don't understand your page...are you even old enough to smoke? WTF????
