Unlike idiotic faiths, Roman Catholicism does not hold every word of the Bible to be "untouchable" and "complete". It recognizes its humanity. Therefore, Philosophers of all kinds have expanded upon its ethical code and explanations in attempts to bring it to better understanding. This is why Thomas Aquinas praised Aristotle and used many of his (and Plato's) concepts.
