Electric exercise bike was developed by a mechanical engineer in New York City for his wife, who was suffering from a debilitating neuromuscular disease. He wanted her to exercise to keep her muscles moving and limber in order to lessen the pain she was experiencing. It worked so well that he was asked to make more and the company was born.
I found mine 50 something years later at an antique shop in Rhode Island.
In this video is my 81 year old mother in law excercycling away.
