the beauty of the book is that it impact on the reader is internal and not external. Our narrator is always in the shadows which allows us to be inside him. I love this about the book and fear all filmic adaptations would miss the existential conundrum of "invisibility".
@ abc123whydo....i don't know what your background is but i dont think anyone of negro descent that has read and understood the book would be suprised that there is no major film translating the story lol...do u think hollywood producers will allow for another Malcom X type motion picture?!?! just think of all the trouble that might stir

Invisible Man will never have a motion picture made. Ellison never sold the rights, i don't think he wanted it made into a film.
