Yeah Richard Street has quite a bigger following of fans than I had thought, but I still stick to my opinion that he ruins any song he did not sing original leads in. Now songs like Heavenly and Firefly where he DOES sing lead originally, he is good! But anything that Paul or David sang originally which he does a lead in, AND this video especially shows clearly, he sucks! He totally ruined this song and I wish they made someone different sing it then. BTW, this was 1983, NOT 1985!

Something I find interesting is that Rich, who was Paul's replacement, apparently ended up singing more of Ruffin's songs than Dennis. Now, it seems that whoever takes the slot once held by Richard (and Paul before him) sings Ruffin's songs more than whoever takes the lead spot (Dennis, Ruffin, Ali Woodson, et. al). Just a theory, anyway.

CAR105729, it's a matter of opinion. With you, it's a to each their own thing. I personally hate Richard Streets singing. His style ruins everything David or Paul sang that he had to sing coming in. He's ok with songs he did the original lead for but David or Paul's songs? He sucks. They stuck with him cuz he had history and familiarity with the temptations when Paul got sick and they needed a replacement stat. They had no time to audition people. @freakycaramel how can you mix up Richard and Smokey? Richard is a good singer, but on Smokey's level? I think not. Plus they don't really even look alike besides the afro maybe. But I agree it's not the greatest performance of this song of all time, but from 0:50 to about 1:00 is some good stuff lol

what kind of people dont know who these are?!...i prefer Richard over ruffin...he managed to stay in the group for 22 years and traveled with them as backup before he was in the group...and he was in the distants...he's a real tempt...so stop hating
