In 1925 the russion filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein produced his silent film "The Battleship Potemkin". As part of the concept he wished that the score should be rewritten every 20 years in order to retain its relevance to each new generation. Not many followed this wish, two of them were Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe from the Pet Shop Boys. They created the probably best soundtrack for the film and performed it in September 2004 in London. They also released the music on CD but never on DVD.
But only the combination of the film and the Pet Shop Boys soundtrack gives the full impression of how wonderful the project is. That's why I want to start this petition now to show the Pet Shop Boys how much interest there would be for such a release!
