@ExpoImagingInc Excellent. Thank you very much. I shoot with Canon 40D & 7D.

Sir, thanks for the great info. BTW, you look like David Cassidy:)

Awesome! This helped out alot

@ahnguyen1 Hi there, If the lens hood is too large to put the ExpoDisc over it then remove the lens hood, put on the ExpoDisc over your lens, take your white balance, remove the ExpoDisc and replace the lens hood. And you're set! I hope this helps.

Should we still use the lens hood after we get the custom WB with the expodisc?

Since I have various size lens, do I need a separate size disc for each lens or can I just purchase the largest size and hold over the lens when setting the white balance?

@jcwienerjr We recommend that you purchase the ExpoDisc that fits your largest lens and the simply hold it flush against any smaller lenses. You must hold the ED flat over the end of the lens to prevent any light leaks.
Note - We do not advise using a smaller sized ED in front of a larger sized lens. If the ED you are holding in front of your lens is too small, you run the risk of setting an incorrect WB by allowing unfiltered light to leak into the camera around the edge of the filter.

Excellent tutorial. With my Canon, which white balance setting should my camera be on when taking the shot with my expodisk on?

@deonholt If your camera requires capturing and saving an image to set an in-camera custom white balance, e.g. Canon, then it is recommended that you use the AWB setting. Thanks!

When you point the camera at the light source, do you need to focus the light source before you switch it to manual focus to take the exposure?
ahnguyen1 1 year ago
@ahnguyen1 No. When you put the ExpoDisc on you will want to turn your lens to manual focus (this is usually a little switch on the lens of your camera; please don't get this confused with the manual MODE). You will not be taking a clear in-focus image when you are using the ExpoDisc. After you get the shot, remove the ExpoDisc and you can put your camera back to auto focus if you'd like and take your pictures! I hope this helps.
