*** READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMENTING *** This was a story on A Current Affair which was about dangerous driving. By coincidence the car that was fitted with cameras to demonstrate this was directly in front of an accident inside the Domain tunnel, so it was captured on video.

Watch the Mercedes move into the centre lane, out of view of the truck's mirrors as he indicates to change into the same lane. Once the truckie moves left a collision is inevitable.

FAQS/common comments

1. Australia is a RIGHT HAND drive country. There is a driver in the Merc, you're just looking on the wrong side.

2. Yes it's a perfect PIT. You're about the 100th person to make that joke. :)

3. The driver is a male, not a female.

4. The Merc does indicate for 3 "blinks" but because of frame cropping this is not visible in this version of the video.

  • @crispy380 That's right. The truck driver is skilled and experienced. He does this all the time.

  • The Truck driver is smart! If he brakes immediately the driver in the car would be spinning around.

  • Obviously a stunt, not a genuine incident ....

  • Just trying to figure out which one of these accounts is gcmc2's new one, anybody worked it out ?

  • The truckie didn't fall asleep- the Benz & he changed lanes at the same time.IF & I repeat IF those infomercial promoting scumbag lowlife reporter "current affairs" douchebags weren't driving in the right lane IT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.... simple as that. YOU MUST NOT DRIVE IN THE RIGHT LANE UNLESS OVERTAKING ON ANY ROAD OVER 80kmh....If more people followed this simple rule the roads would be much more enjoyable to use- Screw commercial TV. Police shoulda taken their licence- PARASITES

  • I am going to assume the guy in the truck fell asleep.

  • @jethrotay the truck driver is smart because he braked upon colliding with the car? what else would you expect to happen?

  • This perfectly demonstrates the tendency among Australian motorists of indicating AFTER beginning a manoeuvre. Indicators are primarily to indicate your intention before you make your move. It's all too common that people believe indicating, especially to change lanes, is something you do mid-move. I think people think it's cool to use minimal blinks of the indicator--it's unsafe. Use your indicator to show you're going to make a move, and keep it on until your manoeuvre is complete.

  • @nathanssss thank you

  • @kisD100 no truck is a freightliner argosy

  • Either party should have just brake...

  • but she took up 2 lanes
