It's not a wire, it's a clothes line... And some people do have dryers, where did you take that conclusion?
It's so stupid to use a clothes line, it's actually banned in some states...

Well I don't know all the words for everything in English... and when I say "We don't have a dryer, as you know", I mean my family in our house. I'm not taking any conclusions. But I guess I can say fairly accurately that clothes lines are the rule in Brazil... and they're not banned in our country. I agree it can be dangerous in some situations, but enclosed as they are in our yard they're perfectly safe and a cheap alternative to dry our clothes. Thank you for your visit! :)
