Linda Ronstadt - Long Long Time

One of the classics. I think most of us have experienced the feeling of unrequited love. Linda's expressive voice captures that emotion perfectly. This song was written by Gary White. One thing I've noticed is that very few people have ever attempted to cover it, probably out of intimidation.

coolram 1952 you nailed it. What happened to female singers with *voices*? LR could be soft and sweet, but then she could blow you out your chair with power, clarity and dynamic range. Seems to me a lot of the new "talent" these days would be overtaxed singing much more than a lullaby to a newborn.

@chandravene Right, she can be both soft and sweet and also ballistic. And she can do both in the same song. Heck, she can do both in the same song measure. Check out the songs "Dreams to Dream" and "Desperado". Such voice control and purity.

To all you aspiring young female singers, listen carefully, this is how it's done. Ms Ronstadt pulls this one from the heart and knocks it clear out of the park. She's able to play on the emotions of the audience with nothing but vocal talent. Notice how she delivers a timeless performance WITHOUT autotune, green hair, red hair, clothing made from meat, spike heels, fishnet stockings or any of the other modern distractions in vogue with so many "performers" today.
