It is actually a 'dominant' type blues which makes it more major than minor. But minor scales will work just fine over this.

Man i'm getting so fucking tired of all the wannabe pro musicians here on these videos.. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND PLAY... Why should the not put the key on the video? There ARE begginers who allso want to play. Yes, G mixolydian works, G major works.. Play what sounds good to YOU, not according to the music rules.. Real musicians doesn't need to know all that crap to make it sound good.. just sayin. Although it's a clear advantage if you know some music theory.
