A lot those are control methods.....and some of the others were practical to th time period. You have to realize that the bible was written thousands years ago and nobody has bother to adjust the bible to our modern society so it would fit general human culture of our time. so you will have something about hebrew slaves not to mention its translated a good plenty of times so it almost like an ancient game of Telephone. Christianity is not at fault but merely the people who enforce it

@Laughingantelope37 Congratulations on completely missing the point of the video. The point being that we use our critical thinking skills to choose what the Bible says to us, and reject that which is clearly nonsense. In which case, the Bible is irrelevant, and the really important thing is our ability to think.

You point out scripture with no reference as to where you found this and Who's bible! If you knew about religious dogma you'd know that there are many denominations that have subtracted and added things into the bible....

Ugh. It's people like you that give atheists a bad name. I'm atheistic as well, but you and I have no right to go around telling people what to think. People have the right to believe whatever they want to believe. And those who don't share their beliefs should still be tolerant of them, and not call them insulting things like "moronic" or "nonsense".

@Laughingantelope37 Think about the control methods now, Ask 100 random people to whom Brad Pitt is married, and follow up with asking who is the V.P. of the U.S.A. We care more about sports and celebrities, than we do about anything else. Churches were replaced with stadiums, just look at the NFL on Sunday. Patriotism is confused with support of our troops. I do support our troops, just not the assholes who send them off in the name of profit.Same old story.

@codpeace Sure it is easier to just believe in every ridiculous claim that people tell you, it's hell of a lot harder to THINK with your brain and figure out if the claim is actually correct or not! So I agree that you're taking the lazy man's road and atheists are taking the hard road to find out what's actually true!
