Some guys in Wargamer says it might be worth while to split a squad into fire teams. More targets for the opponent and more units to do bounding overwatch.

In the early parts where he sends a whole platoon out in the open field (1:22) only to get pinned. Why not send 1 squad to expose your positions, then use the other squad to fire (blind fire if not detected) on your position to suppress you.
