Damn.. it is so frickin hard... once you get a frickin stain on your carpet most likely you wont be able to take that shit out... Like say if you iron your dark jeans on your carpet and leave it on one spot for awhile. You will end up have a iron impression on your carpet along with the colored jeans stain.. fucking lame shit

BEWARE!
Maybe I am an idiot, but I followed these directions to the letter (50% water-50% vinegar on my synth carpet), and all it did was spread the water stain out, and ...
The SMELL OF VINEGAR did not leave my apt., even after drying, and Febreze-ing.
I ended up hiring a PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANER, who had to come out TWICE.
One week later, you can STILL detect the smell of vinegar.
BOTTOM LINE: BE WARNED!

yeah it must be a fresah water stain, usually it's not that simple, they tend to wick back, thats why emergency water restoration is called emergency you need to get a.s.a.p
