I'm one of the co-creators of this video - basically, we were inspired by both Smash Bros. (the original; we did this before we heard the news that Super Smash Bros. was coing out) *and* Mortal Kombat. The notion of lead characters from completely unrelated projects/films/games all fighting each other was at the heart of it, and that's very much Smash Bros. So we drew from both. Hope you enjoyed it or at least got a kick out of our efforts! :) Thanks for commenting.
