Lyrics:
Oh! hush thee, my baby, the night is behind us,
And black are the waters that sparkled so green.
The moon, o'er the combers, looks downward to find us
At rest in the hollows that rustle between.

Where billow meets billow, then soft be thy pillow;
Ah, weary wee flipperling, curl at thy ease!
The storm shall not wake thee, nor shark overtake thee,
Asleep in the arms of the slow-swinging seas

  • Christopher Borges runs an outstanding choir program for Bakersfield High School. He is an example of one person inspiring others to excel beyond their expectations. Thank you Mr. Borges!!

  • @roncpas We can definitely agree with you on that point. We thank you as well Mr. B!

  • What a wonderful choral program this appears to be. How nice to hear such musical singing. I agree- they should have taken this into a studio. Fine pianist too.

  • I just came from hearing Eric Whitacre direct the Junges Vokalensemble Hannover in this piece and I must say that aside from it being performed a bit quickly here, this was so well done that I think the BHSC should take themselves straight to a studio to record this themselves! It is a pity that the audience was largely composed of inconsiderate, or merely immature children who did not know how to truly appreciate what a talented group was performing for them. My humble opinion!

  • What an amazing sound! Kudos to the choral director and amazing group! Yeah, the audience wasn't the best, but the professionalism of the group was displayed as they sang through all of the distractions! Awesome!

  • feck the audience really ruined it. They wouldnt know good music and performance if it smacked them on the face! GRRRR

  • indeed :3

  • Now you're youtube stalking me?!

  • xoxSorasGirlxox - Maybe I'll take choir next year, eh? Hauhauhauhauha

  • The alto part of this song is absolutely dreadful! But it sounds so nice when you're not actually singing it
