CHAPTER 3:
*Still Carleis POV*

So, I heard what happened after the concert tonight.
Yeah, I replied excitedly, I saw Joe again!
Thats not what I was referring to, young lady.
Uh oh. Young lady. He only uses that when hes angry. This cant be good. Time to put on the good girl act.
What are you talking about, Daddy? I asked sweetly.
You know exactly what Im talking about. He stated calmly.
I stared at him, confused.
Your little stunt tonight! He said, raising his voice a little. I started to get scared.
Oh, that. Now, about that, I- He cut me off.
You nothing! You know the rules: no going anywhere without a bodyguard, end of story! He boomed. I became very frightened. This isnt going well.
But, Daddy, I- He interrupted me again.
No buts, young lady. Now, go to your room and think about what you did.
And heres where I get out of the punishment. Tears started to form in my eyes, fake of course, and my lips started to quiver.
B-but D-daddy, I stuttered and looked at him with puppy dog eyes as the tears started to fall.
Aww, princess. I didnt mean to upset you. Its just, you need to learn your lesson somehow.
Im sorry! I didnt mean to! They were not letting me go to the meet and greet, so I went myself because I just couldnt wait to see them. I didnt mean to cause anything! I lied, bawling.
He sighed. Its ok, honey. I guess you learned your lesson. Why dont you go up to your room and get ready for bed?
Ok, I sniffled, kissed his cheek, and walked out of the room. I grinned to myself, silently praising my skills. I actually got out of a punishment. I walked into my suite of a room and dropped onto my bed. Today was a great day and I couldnt wait for tomorrow. I felt like something was going to happen that would change my life. I got changed into my pajamas and picked up my cell phone. I dialed Tif and after two rings she picked up.
Car! How was the concert??
Great. You wont believe what happened! Put your sister on the line.
Ok, hold on. She said. And then I heard Nicki! Pick up the phone!
HEY CARLEI! I heard Nicki shout a little too energetically.
Sugar? I asked, without explaining. They knew what I was talking about.
Uhmaaaaaaybe, she said giggling. Yeah, she definitely had sugar.
You know, you really should cut down on that. A lot of it isnt good for you.
And you think it matters to me? I DONT THINK SOOOOOO!! She screamed.
Ok, enough about my sisters sugar problems. What happened at the concert tonight, Carlei?! Tif asked anxiously. I sighed. This was gonna be a long night.
I explained my night to them, except it took me 35 minutes. Without Nickis screaming and Tifs questions after every sentence, it mightve taken, oh I dont know, about 5-10 minutes. But, thats ok. I had to explain some parts more than once, so Im pretty sure they know exactly what happened tonight. They seemed really interested, more interested than I thought they would ever be. But, hey, theyre my best friends. Theyre here for me, no matter how stupid or immature or idiotic the situation is. And thats what I love about them.
What an exciting night! Tif exclaimed.
Yeah, Nicki yawned, youre one lucky girl. I laughed.
Whered your sugar high go, Nicki?
Imnot sure, she said tiredly. I could tell that in a few minutes, she would be fast asleep.
Ok, well, Im gonna let you guys get your sleep. Im exhausted anyway. I told the two of them.
Ok, night! Love you! They both yelled at the same time.
Love you, too. I hung up the phone and lied down in my bed. I smiled to myself, thinking about tonight. Like Nicki said, I WAS one lucky girl. I went to bed happy, unaware of what was happening the next day.
