Clear Creek Falls at Falls City, Winston County, Alabama, before Alabama Power Company created the dam and Lewis Smith Lake. This movie has no sound. Videoed by Hoyett Wolfe.
for years i had hoped to at least see a photo of the now submerged clear creek falls, imagine my suprise finding this old footage on you tube; awesome.
This really is fantastic--thanks for posting. I passed directly over this spot a few hours ago while assessing flattened musk turtle habitat (a threatened species that still occurs in the lake), and I wondered what it must have looked like. I was no more than one year old when this film would have been made.
This is awesome GrayWolf. I always like seeing any historical video or photos of the Smith Lake area... In particular I'd love to see different pictures of the area before the lake was built... some of the 'new' bridges being constructed and/or photos of the 'old' bridges.
